If you’ve shopped at Kearny Mesa Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM lately, you’ve probably noticed that the minivan has come back in a big way. The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica has been making headlines and attracting attention since its debut, and now the 2020 Chrysler Voyager has joined it in our lineup. These models have shown that the minivan still makes for a great family car, and now the Chrysler brand has plans to refresh these models and update their appearances for a new model year.
The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica has an exterior style based on the Chrysler 200, which is now out of production. The 2021 model could take some styling cues from the 2020 Chrysler 300, which has a more upscale design and a sportier look. The next Chrysler Pacifica will likely have a larger grille, sharper-looking headlights with LED accents, and new taillights. The next Chrysler Voyager will probably receive similar upgrades, but LED lighting might be an additional feature on this less expensive minivan model.
That’s not the only update coming to Chrysler minivans. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica may also get some new plug-in hybrid tech courtesy of the Jeep® brand. This “eAWD” system uses a battery-driven electric motor that’s attached to the rear axle to help improve the fuel economy of the Chrysler Pacifica by essentially turning it into a rear-wheel drive model on short trips where all-wheel drive isn’t needed. Then, when road conditions get rough, the all-wheel drive system can hop back into action to deliver the traction that you need.
